After OBERMEYER had successfully participated in the competition and revised the design concept, they were awarded with the planning contract for the university hospital of the city of Wenzhou together with their Chinese planning partner SHCCAC. This hospital, laid out for maximum medical care and a ward of up to 3,000 beds shall cover the medical needs of the rapidly growing city and their surroundings. Apart from the outpatients’ clinic, the medical departments organized in competence centers, the operating center and the emergency center line up along the main traffic road. A VIP hospital, a university building and dormitories for the hospital staff will form separate units of the entire facility.
